Musical 'Yoga': 

Essential Rhythms Weekly Drum Circle Program

Event: Anyone interested in drumming, in any way, shape or form, are invited to come along and join in the fun and participate in Essential Rhythms' a drum circle, every fortnight. If you have never drummed before and have always wanted to, this is your chance. You don't have to have a drum as they are available on the night.

When: Dates and times to be set

Where: Wodonga Brass Band Hall - Cnr of Hovell & South St Wodonga

Cost: $5.00 per person

Background: It’s not a music lesson. It’s not a performance. It’s not even necessarily about music. A drum circle is more like a rhythm party—a spontaneous event with no audience, only participants.

Under the guidance of a professional facilitator, using a variety of hand drums and world percussion instruments provided by Essential Rhythms, participants will improvise rhythms as they go along. The result will be an indescribable feeling of cooperation—and the groove is different every time.

Researchers believe making music was one of the earliest tools of community building, even predating language. Group drumming combines that ancient means of communication with a sense of togetherness—it’s a growing means of therapy, a powerful method of expressing the inexpressible, and a surprising amount of fun.

This is an open event part of regular drum circles provided by Essential Rhythms.

 An opportunity to learn or brush up on your

Dynamics, Accents, Concepts, Patterns, Rudiments & Rolls

As well as using basic rudiments for great sounding fills

 Performances and Demos by some great drummers including drummers from Wodonga Brass and the Albury-Wodonga Pipe Band as well as guest rock drummers

 3pm – 5pm & 7pm – 9pm
