Welcome to the |

The art of drumming has been practiced in all lands since the dawn of man. Drums have and still do, play huge roles in the cultures of many countries. They are used in gatherings of all kinds, from weddings to funerals. Drums are a way of communication, a way of healing, a way of remembering and a way to lose oneself in the joy of a simple beat. Everyone has the ability to drum; it's just a matter of feeling, and letting go. The benefits of music reach far into our lives and can take us on many journeys. History and science tells us that music is more than just a blend of notes and beats. Drumming is just one small part in the huge spectrum of music, but allows one to be able to reach the point of "letting go", quickly. You do not have to read music, nor do you have to study for months or years, to be able to drum. Though as with anything, practice makes perfection. Drumming can be learnt quite quickly and easily, as it is already within us. Passed down from our ancestors, through generation after generation, the art remains locked inside us, patiently waiting to released and practiced. By letting go of your thoughts that tell you cannot do it or by letting go of your fear of embarrassment, and by letting go of your surroundings and giving in to the sounds within and without, you will be in a totally joyous state of free musical expression.

| The
Circle - A community group open to all.
The We gather together in parks, public reserves and community centres, to enjoy each others company, friendships and rhythms. To avoid the cooler months of winter we most often drum indoors. From September to April we take advantage of day-light-savings and the warmer nights and drum outdoors. We also have 'full moon' drum circles, when they are present. |
